CHAMBER

Astghik & Nane

REC 1
  REC 2    SHEET MUSIC

Duet for cello and piano in two movements inspired by Armenian mythology and folk music. The first movement evokes Astghik, goddess of love and beauty, through a delicate, ornamented cello melody over flowing piano arpeggios. The second portrays Nane, goddess of war and wisdom, with a bold, restless theme and driving syncopated rhythms.

Through lyrical melodies, shimmering textures, and vibrant rhythmic energy, the piece paints musical scenes of the Tsar’s realm, Prince Guidon’s bravery, and the Swan-Princess’s enchanting grace.

Dali Miniatures

VIDEO     REC    SHEET MUSIC

Written for string quartet is a five-movement work (I. Galatea of the Spheres, II. The Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory, III. The Meditative Rose, IV. Caravan, V. The Face of War) inspired by four masterpieces of Salvador Dalí and a digital artwork by Aram Vardazaryan. Each movement captures a distinct image: the disintegration of the atom, the melting of space and time, the Om symbol, the long-legged elephants, and the haunting face of war.

Tango del Alma

VIDEO   SHEET MUSIC

In Tango del Alma (Tango of the Soul) for string quartet, I wanted to bring the fire and passion of tango into the intimate voice of the string quartet. The music moves with rubato freedom—its rhythms and accents shifting like dancers in conversation, at times united as one, at times echoing each other in lively exchange.

CHOIR

Fog

Scored for SSAA a cappella, set to Carl Sandburg’s 1916 poem Fog. Inspired by his walks near Chicago’s Grant Park, Sandburg crafted this brief yet evocative poem to capture the quiet, mysterious movement of fog as it gently settles over the city. This composition reflects his deep appreciation for nature, bringing to life the poem’s delicate imagery through choral expression.

Written for SATB a cappella sets an excerpt from Rain in Summer by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Inspired by the line “How beautiful is the rain!”, the piece mirrors the poem’s vivid imagery through flowing textures, dynamic contrasts, and rhythmic fluidity—evoking the gentle patter of drizzle, the surge of a downpour, and the refreshing power of a summer rain.

PIANO

Aura

VIDEO      SHEET MUSIC

Aura was one of the first piece I wrote after two years of struggling with chronic migraines. During that period of time I was not able to practice piano, listen or create music. This composition is my way of expressing my feelings, thoughts and struggles I endured on a daily basis while having constant migraines.

Butterfly

REC          SHEET MUSIC

Butterfly is a solo piano work inspired by a moment at Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens, when a delicate blue Hemiargus ceraunus butterfly landed on my hand. Its vivid colors and graceful movements became the spark for this lyrical and gently fluttering piece.

Elegy

REC
      SHEET MUSIC

Elegy for solo piano is a nostalgic and heartfelt tribute to the victims of the Armenian genocide. The work is inspired by the film Mayrig (1991), which portrays the struggles of an Armenian family forced to rebuild their lives as refugees in a foreign land after the tragedy of 1915. Through lyrical lines and poignant harmonies, the piece reflects on loss, resilience, and enduring memory.

Gloomy Waltz

Through its haunting melodies and somber waltz rhythms, the piece reflects loneliness, pain, and the quiet weight of devastation, offering a contemplative glimpse into the darker corners of the heart.

Miniature
